St. Moritz (German: Sankt Moritz; French: Saint-Moritz; Romansh: Italian: San Maurizio) is a resort town in the Engadine valley in Switzerland. It is a municipality in the district of Maloja in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. The highest summit in the Eastern Alps, the Piz Bernina, lies a few kilometres south of the town. St. Moritz hosted the Winter Olympicsin 1928 and 1948. It is a popular destination of the upper class and international jet set, as well as one of the most expensive ski resorts in the world.
St. Moritz is the highest town with a rail connection in Switzerland. Operated by the Rhaetian Railway, St. Moritz railway station (1,775 m) is located at both ends of the Albula and Bernina Railways. The Glacier Express and Bernina Express trains also stop at St. Moritz. The station is located on the lakeshore, at the bottom of Via Serlas.
Skiing and snowboarding. There are four ski regions in and around St. Moritz: Corviglia, Corvatsch, Diavolezza, and Zuoz. They offer 350 kilometers of prepared slopes and 34 cosy restaurants. Moreover, there are a number of snowsports schools in St. Moritz.
